FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What should I expect at my first visit?
I want you to be a part of the planning process! You are the one who knows YOUR body the best. If that relationship is just beginning, I will support you as you get to know your body better. We will spend 10-15 minutes at the beginning/end of your first visit to get to know each other and for us to spend time talking about recommendations moving forward. The first visit is all about getting to know you and your body and your movement patterns/geometry. This is the beginning of our journey together. You may feel less pain and tension after our session but you may experience some therapeutic soreness.
What should I wear to my first visit?
Please wear loose clothing that’s easy for you to move in, i.e. stretchy pants or shorts, in case we decide to do some stretch work as a part of your session.
Where do we go after your first visit?
I will message you to check-in within the first few days of your visit to help us calibrate the work we do together. Please be patient and curious with yourself. Working through years of movement patterns, sleep patterns, etc. takes time. Please find a rhythm that works for YOU. What do I mean by this? What are you doing with your body? What are your time and financial commitments? What is your commitment to your well being? All of these factors contribute to how often you receive bodywork. Please find a cadence that works for your body and life and book ahead! I want to serve and help you, but my schedule sometimes books 1-2 weeks out.
What products do you use during a session?
I use 100% organic, unscented coconut oil. I have grapeseed oil as an alternative if you are allergic. The lymphatic essential oil blend I use contains a proprietary blend of cypress, cedarwood atlas, cajeput, helichrysum, patchouli and rosemary oils. I will ask you if you are okay with me using an anti-inflammatory CBD blend before using it on you. I DO sell the CBD I use in our sessions. It retails for $90 and I sell it for $80
CBD Clinic level 5 topical support Feel free to reach out by email or inquire at our next session if you would like to purchase for at home use.

Will I be pain free after a massage?
My goal as a therapist to create space to help your body heal. Sometimes a reduction of pain is a byproduct, sometimes you may still leave your session in pain. Pain is a messenger, telling us things. It tells us about dysfunctional patterns we’ve created through the course of our lives, and it helps us make changes in our bodies and lives. Healing takes time and patience and curiosity.
What if I’m tense during our session?
That may or may not happen. I have lots of techniques to help you relax and a strong intuition, but each person connects with a practitioner in their own time. It personally takes me 3-5 sessions with a practitioner to feel a sense of trust and support. Give yourself patience and grace as you ascertain whether we are a fit as practitioner and client.
Do you receive feedback?
Your feedback is a gift. True, authentic, honest rendering of your body and your experience is invaluable to me. I like to check in so that #1 you check in with yourself, and #2 so that you can share with me how you truly feel post session. This helps me/us to calibrate the work we do together. You may feel any number of ways after our session from low energy to high energy, headache to delighted. The range is vast and your experience is valid, no matter what it is.
It may take you some time to be comfortable with me as a practitioner and the modalities I offer. Sometimes you may give a modality a chance, or a practitioner and it may not be a fit at all. I promise to give you my utmost level of authenticity and honesty regarding our level of fitness.
What should I do at home?
What you do matters! It is best to find a blend of passive/active care that works for you.
Passive Care: body work - massage, acupuncture, chiropractic,
Active Care: walking, biking, yoga, pilates, weightlifting, dancing, movement

LOCAL RECOMMENDATIONS
these are resources I personally use and have experienced
These resources are all apart of my daily, weekly and monthly routines that support my overall wellbeing. I hope you’ll try and enjoy some of them. Please know, every person is so unique, what lights me up, fills me up and brings me joy is not going to be the very same for you. Try different things in order to find what your perfect mix is. I’m happy to help you through that process!
Therastretch Studios - Ajay Patel is my personal fascial stretch therapist - his help and support and commitment to his craft have been a vital part of my own continued transformation.
Joyce Manalo - Health Coach - I worked with Joyce for 6 months last year to reshape my thinking and my habits around food, enjoyment of food, home cooking, and planning ahead to make sure I was getting adequate nutrition daily. The process was very approachable and digestible and I can honestly say that they changes we worked on have even grown beyond my original goals and I’m still maintaining them to this day. This slow and gentle process that really got me involved with my mindset vs. a huge overhaul all at once was exactly what I needed to approach food with curiosity instead of fear and doubt. She also has coaching for movement programs as well! Check her out as a valuable, local resource to help you change your habits and shift your lifestyle with ease!
Ding Ding Group Boxing - Coaches - Anjelica, Dre, Josh, Adria, Jen, J.C., Chris. Ding Ding is group fitness inspired by boxing. 3 rounds of boxing with strength and core work in between. In other words, 50 minutes of fun and fierceness. Strap up, throw down. Boxing is great way to relieve stress, connect brain to body and release anger. This is one of my happy places!
Mama’s Acupuncture - acupuncture for allergies and well being. Erika is wicked smart and incredibly kind. I have felt connections in my body to places that I wasn’t sure still existed. She is amazing at what she does!
Canary Community - detox foot bath.
I have been going for weekly foot baths for the past 90 days and have noticed a decrease in ankle inflammation and overall energy boost. They offer ozone detox services and various other health support in a calm, comfortable setting. Love these ladies and this place.
Oak Cliff Pilates - the best little community pilates studio in the hood. Classical and modern pilates in a supportive/uplifting environment with great music and wonderful community. Also, I teach a weekly restorative movement class here Thursdays at 7:30pm!
Jamie Flacco - Oak Cliff Physical Therapist I have been working with to achieve some goals!
Coach B is excellent at spotting movement deficiencies and breaking down both the movement and the psychology of movement to get you where you want to go. Have been working with Coach B to restore functional movement and for agility. Couldn't recommend more!
Danni Williams - She is my brain whisperer and a fantastic therapist/human being. So grateful for the healing that’s been possible with cognitive behavioral therapy, in conjunction with physical therapies like Frederick fascial stretch therapy, massage and chiropractic. If you are struggling and need help, please reach out to her or someone. Change and healing are possible.
Bethany Michaela Studio - The FABULOUS photographer who took the fabulous still shots for my website. So grateful for her lens and her perspective.
I would like to offer my extreme gratitude to all of those listed above, and additionally my sweet partner Chris, my family, and Candace Clarke (without whom this website wouldn’t be here). Last, but definitely not least. Thank you to all of my wonderful clients for your trust and your presence in my life. I learn from every single one of you. I recognize my extreme privilege in having a care team as large as I do and I am grateful every single day. I am also working to continually share my abundance.
