What is Structural Integration?
Structural Integration is an active bodywork modality performed with movement by both the client and practitioner.
This work addresses the patterning that lives in your neuromyfascia, the connective tissue that affects your muscles and nerves.
I offer the full 12 series of sessions that addresses each fascial line 1 session at a time as well as the "down and dirty" 3 series that addresses multiple fascial lines per session. The 12 series is a more complete take on your pattern and working toward your movement and mobility goals. The 3 series is a nice quickie, but addresses more of the superficial fascia in your body. This style of bodywork is undertaken as a project with a particular objective: more optimal function. This type of work is best performed with a consistent rhythm of 1-2 sessions per week. 1 if you would like more time to process the changes in between and 2 if you are feeling motivated to make a big shift with less processing time.

The 12 Series: We address each fascial line one session at a time with 4 sessions for the deep front line or deep core, and 3 integrative sessions at the end. The initial 8 sessions involve "cleaning" opening, lengthening, awakening and creating glide between muscles and fascia, with regard to your body pattern - how your soft tissues are holding your bones in space.
Session 1: Superficial front line
Session 2: Superficial back line
Session 3: Lateral line
Session 4: Spiral line
Session 5-8: Deep front line (deep core)
Sessions 9-12: Arm lines and Integrative sessions
*Begin a 12 series and pay in full before 1/1/2025 to get 16% off.
$2000 for 12 session instead of $2400.*
The 3 Series: We undertake multiple fascial lines per session with regard to your bodies particular patterning. Session one focuses on the contribution of the feet to the hips, session 2 focuses on the waist to the shoulders and arms, and session 3 is focused on your spine. Each session is 90 minutes long and includes assessment, movement and integration. Integration includes: neck work and or back work at the end of the session. Instead of using oil I use water to help me work in the appropriate layer of connective tissue.
Here are some tips that will help you as we embark. These are day of appt. specific: Drink plenty of fluids the day before your appointment. Please don’t apply lotion or oils the morning of your appointment. Please wear simple, full coverage underwear, like a loose fitting bra, bralette, or bikini. We will take photos at the beginning of each session. These photos will help you visualize the changes that are happening in your body. Try to have some time set aside post appointment for movement and or rest to help you integrate the work we’ve done. If you plan to do a heavy workout that day, please do it before you come.
During our 12 or 3 series of sessions here are some things to consider. This is not the time for personal bests. If you love the gym and going hard, consider more of a 60% or less effort. Using your movement practice as a way to catalogue mobility changes and focus on homework cues that we will assign you. Please consider participating in less outside bodywork as we progress through your series. There can be a feeling of disconnectedness through parts of your body between the sessions, these sensations are not always an indicator that something is wrong. These sensations are a part of the fundamental pattern changes we are seeking. Your body may feel odd and bizarre as we’re changing structure, try to be with it and experience it as you change rather than trying to “fix it”. Please abstain from alcohol and drug use as we progress through the series. This will allow you to gain the most benefit from learning more about your body and will allow your body to change and heal with more ease.
After you’re finished with this series: please take 2 weeks to a month to allow your body to land and process. More things will unwind, change and become clear as time passes. We recognize this may be unfamiliar as we too used to participate in more of a routine maintenance schedule of care. This is a shift for all of us, lean in. We are inviting you to take this time to accept the new freedom in your body. That could mean you are working with a pt, a personal trainer, a movement professional or on your own to explore and maintain the new fascial freedom we worked on together.
Structural Work with Kids: structural work can be a very effective way to help children understand their bodies better! Not only does it aid in proprioception (their understanding of where they are in space) but it can also help them build confidence, make positive changes in their body usage and patterning and beyond. It is especially helpful for aiding awareness and development of the feet, which are our foundation. Reach out if you have any questions, I love working with children 7+!
